Trey and I were in Boston for a few days for the Clemson vs. Boston College game/ mini-vacation. It was so much fun! (minus the game) Boston is such a neat city! We had such a good time. We flew up on Thursday, getting into Boston around 2 pm. We headed straight to the Hotel, gathered a ton of brochures from the lobby and made a game plan for the rest of the trip while we waited for our friend Thomas to arrive. Thomas got in around 9, the boys watched football and I fell asleep.
We got up bright and early on Friday and headed into the city. Our first stop of the day was Fenway Park. It was a pretty neat place. After the tour we made our way to Boston's Back Bay area where we found the Boston Public Library and the John Hancock Building. Then it was time for lunch at Fire + Ice, a Mongolian style grill. It was all you can eat and soo good, I had way to much to eat! After lunch we went to Samuel Adams Brewery to take a (FREE) tour (including a tasting)! It was really fun (even though I don't like beer). After the brewery tour we headed back to the hotel for a bit to drop off our Sam Adams glasses then we headed out to Boston's North End for dinner at a delicious Italian restaurant.
Saturday was the game.. enough said about that. After the game we went to eat with Katie and Dave at a really yummy pizza place in the North End, stopped by a pastry shop for a cannoli.. so delicious.. then headed back to Katie and Dave's Hotel to hang out for a bit before heading back to our room.
Thomas flew out early Sunday morning, so Trey and I had the whole day to ourselves to walk around Boston, which was so fun! We started the day exploring Boston Common and The Public Garden. This was my (and I believe Trey's) favorite part of the trip. The Public Garden is the oldest botanical garden in the US. It was such a pretty place, especially with the leaves changing! After walking around there for a while we stopped into the original 'Cheers,' the bar that inspired the TV show, and got a couple souvenirs including our obligatory shot glass. Then we made our way to the beginning of the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is basically a walking tour of the city, you follow the brick trail through the city and it leads you to many sites that were important during the American Revolution. We took our time walking the trail, stopping for lunch (and a little shopping) in the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, then continued on with the rest of the trial. When we were done with the trail it was time for dinner, so we took the T (Boston's metro system) to Cambridge to find a place to eat. After dinner, it was back to the hotel and into bed for some much needed rest!
Monday morning we woke up pretty early so we decided to head back out to Cambridge to walk around a little more, see more of Harvard's campus, and walk down by the river to see the Boston skyline from over there. After that, it was time to head back to the hotel to pack up and head to the airport.
We had such a fun time! Here are the pictures! (this is super long.. we may or may not have filled up our entire camera card)
