Fun in Fort Mill

This weekend we went up to Fort Mill to visit Abbie, Jason, Hunter, and Caroline. We drove up Friday morning in time to do a lot of playing with Hunter and Caroline before it was nap time. After nap we did some more playing until it was time to get ready for Hunter's T-ball practice! It was so fun to see him out there playing! and Caroline was just as cute as ever! After practice we ordered some bbq from Jim N Nick's (Trey was beyond excited) for dinner. Saturday morning we went to breakfast at Chic-fil-a.. delish.. and then went to Home Goods! I was sooo excited; I've been wanting to go there for the longest time! It was a successful trip too! We got two lamps and two baskets for our bedroom. (I'll try to post pictures tomorrow) After Home Goods Abbie and I, along with Caroline went to Old Navy and Target while the boys went to Best Buy. After our morning of shopping it was time to go back to the house for some lunch (and more playing). After dinner Trey and Jason left for the Panthers game, Abbie and I got Hunter and Caroline ready for bed then watched some HGTV and a movie. :) Here are some pictures:

Sunday morning, we got up pretty early and headed back to Aiken (not without playing a little first of course) in time for church. After the service there was a 'home group tailgate' where people interested in joining a home group got to meet all of the home group leaders. It was a really fun way to meet some more people, and we actually visited one of the groups Sunday night. It was a fun group, and we really enjoyed it. We're going to visit another group tonight, so we'll see how that goes and which one we fit with the best!

Crazy Week

This week has been a little crazy. Last weekend we were at our friends Katie and Dave's house in Lexington for an end of summer get together with a bunch of our friends from Clemson. We had a lot of fun hanging out and playing in Katie and Dave's neighborhood pool and catching up with our friends.

Sunday morning we learned that my grandmother (mom's mom) had passed away. A few months ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments for a while, but her prognosis was never good. Shortly after starting the treatments, she decided to stop them and home hospice care was brought in, so it wasn't unexpected. My mom was already up in Indiana, so we met Andy (my stepdad) at the house and started the drive up north, picking Britni up in Clemson on the way. We got to my grandma's house around lunch time on Monday. All of my aunts, uncles and cousins on that side of the family were there; it was definitely nice to see all of them. After the funeral service Wednesday morning, we headed back home. We got back to Columbia Thursday night, took a quick break from traveling to have dinner with Trey's mom and Robert, and then continued on to Aiken.

Trey went into work yesterday and today to make up some of the time he missed this week, so it's kind of thrown my week all out of whack; it definitely does not feel like today is Saturday. We are so thankful that we were able to go and be with my family with them being so far away, but it's good to be back home. Thank you all for your prayers, please continue to pray for my family as we adjust to life without such an amazing woman. We all know she is rejoicing with the Lord and is no longer in any pain, but she will be so missed.

Braves Game

This Saturday Trey and I went to a Braves Game with two of our friends, Neal and Laura. We had a lot of fun! Here are the pictures!

Our First Anniversary

Our Anniversary celebrations began Wednesday night, when we left Aiken to head down towards Jekyll Island. We stayed with Trey's dad in Hilton Head Wednesday night and left early Thursday morning for Jekyll. When we got there we decided to check out the Georgia Sea Turtle Center that was right by our hotel. It had a few exhibits about sea turtles that were pretty neat, but the really exciting part was the sea turtle hospital. They had about 20 sea turtle patients that they were caring for; it was so neat to see that! After that, we went in checked into our hotel, cooled off for a bit then headed to the pool. We had lunch at the pool-side bar then relaxed by the pool and swam for a while. When we were all pooled out we headed back up to the room and hung out until dinner. We went back to the restaurant with the fried banana cheesecake, because I couldn't be on Jekyll Island and not have it, that would just be crazy. Friday morning we slept in, got some danishes from the cafe at the hotel for a quick breakfast, packed up and checked out around noon. Before leaving, we had lunch in the main dinning room where Trey had shrimp and grits (his favorite part of the trip).

On our way back, we stop at an outlet mall where I got some boot for this winter (so excited)! and Trey got some much needed new Rainbows! After shopping for a while, we got back on the road, stopping near Hilton Head for dinner with Trey's dad before continuing on to Tate's apartment in Charleston. We stayed with Tate Friday night, and went out on his boat on Saturday. It was a lot of fun, and really cool to see Charleston from the water! Saturday night we headed down to my mom's house in Columbia to visit with her and see my sister before she leaves for Clemson. We left Sunday afternoon to head back to Aiken.

Sunday night Trey and I went out to eat at Travinia, an Italian restaurant in Aiken. When we got home, Trey surprised me with an anniversary cake!

One Year Ago Today...

I married my best friend. I can't believe it's been a year; it went by so fast!
